1Touch Contacts

1Touch Contacts (OTC) can be used to make phone calls as well as send SMS to multiple recepients. OTC implements a T9 Search technique that eliminates multiple presses of the same key when searching for a contact. The TITLE text shows the matching text as you press the keys when searching for a contact. For example, if you wish to search for 'Adam' you would press the keys 2,3,2 and 6 in that order. The title text would display the first four characters of the first matching contact for the key combination of 2,3,2 and 6. With OTC you do not have to repeatedly clear the search by pressing the clear key multiple times. After a contact is selected, the search gets automatically reset so that you can start another search. This makes selecting multiple contacts a breeze. 1TouchContacts is available for Symbian S60 FP2 and above based Phones.

Making a Phone Call

Search for a contact and then use the RIGHT ARROW key to switch between Mobile, Home and Work numbers. The selected number will be dialed when the CALL (SEND) key is pressed. If promted by the platform to confirm your request, just press ENTER.

Sending SMS

Search for a contact. Use the RIGHT ARROW key to select the number of your choice (Mobile, Home or Work) and then press the ENTER(SELECT) key to Mark that contact. Then search and Mark other contacts. If you wish to select all contacts just use the option 'Mark All'. When you are done selecting contacts use the option 'SMS' to open the message composer. You can insert pre-defined messages by selecting Options->Favorites. Mark your favorite message(s) using the ENTER(SELECT) key and then select the option 'Insert' to add them to your message. Searching and Marking favorites is done in the same way as is done for contacts - using a Smart Search. You can add, remove and edit your favorite messages. You can add as many favorite messages as you wish and easily select multiple messages using the Smart Search feature.

Note: At present, the Smart Search feature is applicable only to phones that have the numeric keypad. When launching 1Touch Contacts, a prompt will appear multiple times (depending on device) asking the user to allow reading of contacts. Hence we suggest you to not close the application. When you are done making a phone call or sending an SMS press the Home/Menu/Application button to navigate away from OTC. This way you can avoid launching the application again.
